Faculty Meeting

The regular meeting for the faculty of the Department of Statistics was held in a hybrid format via Zoom and in Padelford Hall, room C-301 at 12:45pm, October 6, 2025. Abel Rodriguez, Department Chair, presided at the meeting. Kristine Chan was recording secretary. 

New Business 

• CAS-IT Help: Helen Oland, Director of Information Technology for the UW College of Arts and Sciences, provided an overview of the IT reorganization, which consolidates employees from various departments into the College. IT staff are now organized into five teams: Desktop Support, Applications & Development, Security & Infrastructure, Special Projects, and Research Computing. • Renewal of Department Policies: The topic was presented to the faculty, but no feedback was received. A poll will be distributed to eligible voting faculty to determine renewal.
• Subcommittee for Lecturer Part-Time appointments: The topic was raised with the faculty, but no comments were received. A poll will be distributed to eligible voting faculty to determine whether to proceed with renewal.
