Faculty Meeting

The regular meeting for the faculty of the Department of Statistics was held in a hybrid format via Zoom and in Padelford Hall, room C-301 at 12:30pm, April 21, 2025. Abel Rodriguez, Department Chair, presided at the meeting.  

Committee Reports 

• Continuation of the PhD Curriculum discussion: The PhD Graduate Program Coordinator reviewed the proposed language outlining which curriculum changes will move forward for a faculty vote. He also referred to the two sets of slides – one outlining committee report and proposals and another detailing the voting options for the PhD curriculum.
• MS DS Move: There are ongoing discussions about designating the Department of Statistics as the administrative home for the Interdisciplinary Data Science MS program. The proposal is set to take effect in Autumn 2026, pending approval by the department’s eligible voting faculty. A poll will be distributed in the coming weeks.
