Faculty Meeting

The regular meeting for the faculty of the Department of Statistics was held in a hybrid format via Zoom and in Padelford Hall, room C-301 at 12:30pm, February 10, 2025. Abel Rodriguez, Department Chair, presided at the meeting. Kristine Chan was recording secretary. 

New Business 

• Dept. of Justice Technical Standards on Web Content: 
  Last year, the Department of Justice (DOJ) published a new rule on digital accessibility under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This rule requires the University’s web content, including academic course content, to be accessible starting by April 24, 2026. Bree Callahan, Beth Somerfield & Mary-Colleen Jenkins from UW Compliance Services presented slides along with useful links available here and here that detail how this impacts the University as a whole and how to stay in compliance with new policies when making information available digitally.

The meeting proceeded to the executive session at 1:45pm and was later adjourned at 2:00pm.
