Faculty Meeting

The regular meeting of the faculty of the Department of Statistics was held at 12:30pm, April 24, 2023. Abel Rodriguez, Department Chair, presided at the meeting. Kristine Chan was recording secretary.

Announcement

Academic Faculty Senate is requesting faculty on how to distribute salary raises as there will be revisions in the merit/salary system. Details can be found here.

New Business

V. Graybeal gave a presentation on the staff reorganization that details the list of responsibilities of each staff member. See details here.

The Chair presented the Ph.D. admission outcomes for 2010-2021. This was presented at a recent DICE meeting as well. It reports the number of students being admitted into our program as well as the number of students leaving our program.

The Ph.D. Graduate Student representatives, J. Kunke and A. Venkat, gave a presentation discussing the perspective of Ph.D. students on the Applied Data Analysis Project (ADAP) and prelim exam requirements.
