Marzban announced that the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is unable to provide "seminars," but does hold workshops. A list of all past/present/future workshops is available here: https://teaching.washington.edu/learn/workshops/. To set-up a workshop, they need to have an estimate of the number of participants. If faculty are interested in any of the existing workshops, please let C. Marzban know at marzban@uw.edu.
A Disability Resources for Students (DRS) presentation (and Q&A) was given by Adiam Tesfay, Director of the DRS. Link to the presentation here. The presentation provided an overview of DRS core functions and resources for faculty to refer to for students.

Marzban led the discussion on what should be done about ChatGPT in Statistics classes, given that it solves probability problems and even writes R code. Link to example can be found here.
An article from the Chronicle of Higher Education about the change in student expectations after the pandemic was discussed. A link to the article can be found here.
