Assistant Professor, Ema Perkovic, has been named the first Dorothy Gilford Early Career Endowed Professor in Mathematical Statistics as of September 1, 2023.
Dr. Perkovic joined the UW Statistics Department in Autumn 2018 as an Acting Assistant Professor and was promoted to a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Autumn 2020. Before coming to UW, she completed her Ph.D. in Statistics at ETH Zürich in 2018. Her research interests are focused on causal inference from the perspective of graphical models.
The Gilford Endowment was established in recognition of Dorothy Gilford’s distinguished career and contributions to statistical science and its intent is to support female Statisticians. The Gilford Early Career Professorship is meant to support the career development of raising female Assistant Professors in the Department of Statistics.
