We are pleased to announce that two of our alumni, Veronica Berrocal and Susan Shortreed, have been elected as fellows of the American Statistical Association (ASA). You can see the list of fellows here.

Veronica Berrocal graduated from our Ph.D. program in 2007. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Irvine.

Susan Shortreed graduated from our Ph.D. program in 2006. She is currently a Senior Investigator in the Biostatistics Unit at Kaiser Washington Health Research Institute in Seattle. She also holds an affiliate appointment with the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington.

ASA Fellows are named for their outstanding contributions to statistical science, leadership, and advancement of the field. This year, awardees will be recognized at the upcoming Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) during the ASA President’s Address and Awards Ceremony.

Congratulations to our alumni on this prestigious recognition!
