Bio:
Yanqin Fan is Castor Professor of Economics at the University of Washington (UW). Prior to joining UW in 2013, she was Centennial Professor of Economics at Vanderbilt University. Yanqin is a Fellow of the Journal of Econometrics and the International Association for Applied Econometrics.
Professor Fan is an econometrician with broad interests in nonparametric econometrics, partial identification, policy learning, and applications of optimal transport in econometrics. Her work has been published in various academic journals in economics and statistics (Econometrica, Review of Economics Studies, Journal of the American Statistical Association, and Journal of Econometrics). She has won the Arnold Zellner Award of Journal of Econometrics for the Best
Theory Paper twice. Professor Fan has been associate editor for various academic journals (Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Financial Econometrics). She will start her term as a co-editor at the Journal of Econometrics in January 2025.
