Ioana Dumitriu

Ioana Dumitriu will be presenting a guest talk titled "Spectral gap in random bipartite biregular graphs and applications" on Friday October 26, 2018.

Ioana Dumitriu is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at University of Washington whose research interests stretch from numerical analysis to graph theory, via random matrices and networks. Ioana earned her BA in Mathematics from NYU, and her PhD in Applied Mathematics from MIT. Following a Miller Research Postdoctoral Fellowship at UC Berkeley, she became a faculty member at University of Washington in 2006, and was promoted to Full Professor in 2016. Among her awards are a Honorable Mention in the Householder Prize for numerical Linear Algebra (2005) and the Leslie Fox Prize (2007). She was awarded an NSF Career Award (2009), and was named a Fellow of the AMS (2012).
