Iain Carmichael is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Washington hosted by Daniela Witten and supported by the NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. He received a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was advised by Shankar Bhamidi and J.S. Marron. His research develops statistical methods for data with interesting structure including network, image and multi-view data. His work has found applications in areas such as genomics, computational pathology and the law.
