George Luta


Bio:
George Luta is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomathematics at Georgetown University (GU). He joined GU in 2007, after being a faculty in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Timisoara, a Biostatistician at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences. He has 25 years of collaborative work involving research projects from multiple areas including Rheumatology, Oncology and Neurology. Dr. Luta’s current methodological research is focused on the development of new prediction methods based on Lin's concordance correlation coefficient and new statistical methods for measures of health disparities. His current honorary appointments include being a Visiting Professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Aarhus University (Aarhus, Denmark) and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at The Parker Institute (Copenhagen University Hospital, Frederiksberg, Denmark). Dr. Luta is an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute.
